    Assistant Regional Manager (Eastern, Ontario)

    The Assistant Regional Manager assists the Regional Manager by providing operational oversight to clinics within region. The incumbent oversees operations and resolves escalated issues from patients, physicians and the general public while supporting a patient centric service model.

    The Assistant Regional Manager manages the day to day operations of a group of clinics and reports on clinic performance. The incumbent oversees day to day staffing and provides relief staffing within clinics as needed.

    The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support Eastern Ontario including but not limited to: Ottawa, Renfrew, Cornwall, Kingston.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Operations (80%)

    • Manages day to day operations of a group of clinics and report on clinic performance using appropriate metrics.
    • Mentors, encourages, supports and guides the clinic staff to build a culture of empowerment, respect and non-judgement for all staff and patients
    • Supports and trains all staff, new and current, to provide optimal patient care
    • Empowers staff to work as one team, one service alongside Canadian Addiction Treatment Pharmacies or another pharmacy partner
    • Makes certain that clinics are appropriately staffed
    • Reports high-priority/impact issues to the Regional Manager
    • Instigates and facilitates the hiring process; including making staffing requests, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and facilitating the offer process
    • Conducts staff meetings in each clinic to share news, provide feedback, answer questions and listen to staff concerns. Making changes within clinics to respond to engagement feedback.
    • Makes certain that Clinics are operating in a good state of physical repair by taking actions on repair requests as they are needed and proactively identifying areas of improvement
    • Liaises with Union Representatives to foster positive working relationships
    • Performs work in accordance with the provisions of OATC Policies and Procedures and ensure that employees are aware of and comply with all Corporate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
    • May be required to work in a clinic if a critical staffing issue cannot be resolved
    • Payroll timecard approval (ADP)

    Community Engagement (20%)

    • Seeks opportunities to develop relationships within the community to proactively promote CATC offerings to appropriate community organizations
    • Identify opportunities to expand CATC services through community partnerships – e.g. Addiction counselling
    • Educate and inform direct reports on utilizing community resources; create awareness and identify key employees how may support and assist in Community Engagement efforts


    • At least three years’ experience in a leadership role ideally within a healthcare environment
    • Experience in managing operations ideally within a variety of clinical settings (addiction or mental health specialties preferred)
    • Demonstrated ability to navigate change
    • Experience managing human resources in a unionized environment
    • Proven ability to foster positive and productive working relationships with peers. organizational leadership and external partners
    • Working level knowledge and comfort with MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
    • Current certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is an asset

    Working Conditions

    • Satisfactory criminal reference check
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel to clinics and meetings
