Adam Kostiw, BA Psych., MDiv., RP
Clinical Director, Trafalgar
Adam is a Registered Psychotherapist who is both compassionate and caring with a heart for assisting others to make positive changes in their lives. He spent much of his early career working with non-profits before returning to York University where he received his undergraduate honour’s degree in psychology.
He then received his Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling while focussing on family systems theory and couples’ therapy. Adam spent numerous years working on a Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy project as part of a research team at York University.
Adam considers the therapeutic alliance (bond) between the client and therapist to be the cornerstone of the therapeutic process. Everyone needs and deserves a safe and trusting place and with this, the healing process can begin.
Adam strongly believes in a collaborative approach to therapy and that all clients have the strength to achieve their goals.
