Methadone Treatment
Methadone is a long-acting, Health Canada-approved medication used to treat opioid use disorder. It reduces withdrawal symptoms and cravings without producing the euphoric effects of illicit opioids, allowing people to stabilize their lives and engage more fully in recovery. Methadone treatment is available at our outpatient clinics across Ontario and British Columbia, with government-funded options for eligible patients. Learn more about methadone treatment for opioid addiction.Buprenorphine/Naloxone (Suboxone®) Treatment
Buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist that reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms while blocking the effects of other opioids. Combined with naloxone in Suboxone, it is widely prescribed as a take-home medication, making it a flexible and accessible option for many people in treatment for opioid use disorder. Our clinics across Canada offer buprenorphine treatment with same-day intake and ongoing physician support. Sublocade is a once-monthly injectable form of buprenorphine designed for the treatment of moderate to severe opioid use disorder. Because it is administered by a healthcare provider rather than taken daily, it removes the need to manage daily medication and reduces the risk of missed doses. Learn more about Sublocade, an injectable form of buprenorphine, which helps you recover from OUD.Hepatitis C Treatment
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne virus that disproportionately affects people who use drugs. CATC offers same-day Hepatitis C screening and treatment at many of our outpatient locations, providing an accessible pathway to care for people who might not otherwise seek it. Treatment for Hepatitis C is highly effective, with current medications achieving cure rates above 95% in most cases. Learn more about our Hepatitis C treatment programs which provide same-day screening.Inpatient Treatment and Medical Detox
For people who need a higher level of support, CATC operates three CARF-accredited inpatient addiction treatment centres in Ontario. These residential programs provide medically supervised detox, individual and group therapy, and structured aftercare planning, all in comfortable, home-like environments. Admission is available when you're ready to begin. Our growing network of inpatient addiction treatment centres in Ontario provide best-in-class recovery programs for people of all ages, from all walks of life.Virtual Treatment
CATC's Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP) delivers the same evidence-based treatment as our inpatient programs through secure video sessions you can attend from home. The program is designed for people who need flexibility around work, family, or other responsibilities, and includes individual counselling, group therapy, and aftercare support. Sessions are available in the evenings to fit around daily life. Our intensive Virtual Program offers an accessible alternative to traditional inpatient recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is addiction treatment free in Canada? It depends on the type of treatment and your province. In Ontario, visits to CATC’s opioid treatment clinics are covered by OHIP at no out-of-pocket cost. In British Columbia, clinic visits and medications related to opioid treatment are covered with no out-of-pocket cost. For inpatient and virtual programs, many private insurance plans provide coverage. Our intake team can help you understand what is covered under your specific plan before you make any decisions.
How do I find addiction treatment near me in Canada? CATC has more than 75 outpatient locations across Ontario and British Columbia, as well as three inpatient centres in Ontario and a virtual program available Canada-wide. Call our intake line at 1-877-937-2282 or complete the contact form on this page and our team will help you identify the closest and most appropriate option for your situation.
What is the difference between outpatient and inpatient addiction treatment? Outpatient treatment means attending scheduled appointments or sessions while continuing to live at home. It works well for people who need support while maintaining daily responsibilities. Inpatient treatment means staying at a residential facility for the duration of your program, typically 30 to 90 days, with clinical support available around the clock. Inpatient care tends to be most appropriate when a higher level of structure and medical supervision is needed. Our intake team can help you understand which level of care is the best fit for your situation.
Do I need a referral to access addiction treatment at CATC? No. You can self-refer by calling our intake line or completing the contact form on this page. Our team will listen to your situation and help you understand your options. Same-day intake is available at our outpatient clinics, and rapid admission is available for inpatient programs when you’re ready to begin.
Is the virtual program available across all of Canada? Yes. CATC’s virtual intensive outpatient program is available to anyone in Canada with a reliable internet connection. Sessions are delivered through a secure, encrypted platform and are typically scheduled in the evenings to fit around work and family commitments.
What co-occurring conditions does CATC treat alongside addiction? Many people seeking addiction treatment are also managing mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or trauma. CATC’s programs address co-occurring disorders as part of an integrated treatment plan, rather than treating addiction and mental health separately. If you have an existing mental health diagnosis, let our intake team know and we will ensure your care plan reflects your full needs.
