Truth and Reconciliation: A Shared Responsibility
Truth and Reconciliation: A Shared Responsibility
On September 30, Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres honours the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day invites all Canadians to reflect on the painful legacy of residential schools and to stand in solidarity with survivors, families, and Indigenous communities.
At CATC, we recognize that Indigenous peoples continue to face disproportionate challenges in mental health and substance use. Guided by our CARE Principles — Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence — we are committed to providing culturally safe, trauma-informed care and deepening our relationships with Indigenous partners.
We invite you to join us in:
- Wearing orange and taking time to reflect
- Listening and learning from Indigenous voices
- Engaging in conversations about reconciliation
- Supporting Indigenous-led initiatives in your community
Reconciliation is a journey, not a single day. Together, we can build a future rooted in truth, dignity, and healing.
