BC Chief Coroner Report shows overdose as the province’s leading cause of unnatural death

According to the latest chief coroner report, opioid overdose kills more people in British Columbia than homicides, suicides, motor vehicle incidents, drownings and fire-related deaths combined.

In fact, overdose is the leading cause of unnatural death in the province. 596 lives have already been lost between January and March, just barely behind last year’s record of 599 deaths.

Our care teams are dedicated to curbing this terrifying trend, providing same-day access to evidence-based addiction treatment at our six clinics in BC, including a full service, specialized pharmacy in Abbotsford.

We’re proud that our patients are four times more likely to reach their goals in recovery when they manage their medications through our innovative integrated care model.

If you or a loved one need support, find your local treatment centre.
